Meerschaum pipe purchased on EBAY 7/30, Seller in England, sent UPS for 26.58, received 8/4 (!). I guess in near future UPS will bill me for damages (import duties, custom's fees, tariffs > 😖). Interesting it has two presentation sterling escutcheons on the case, dated 1873 and, fast forward, 1956. I think he looks alive 😃! (my unsophisticated highest praise).
They don't carve them like they used to. That pipe looks fantastic.

Some days you just have good days on fleabay. I was telling my friend about my different Ehrlich meers and how much I love them he’s just getting back into pipe smoking a little more serious now so he asked me to look for one for him. I actually found him one, but he didn’t win the auction because it went up to like 240 bucks and then I sent him a different mirror that I had that was really nice and then he won a different auction for a Poker but no Ehrlich, so the other day I login and I do my little browsing and I come across a great one bent Brandy shape so I texted him real quick and before I’ve been texting him to be honest I bought it. It was 100 bucks buy it now in awesome shape. So I texted him. I asked him if he wants it. I really looked for him anyway he said he would take it so on a hunch I looked at that sellers other auctions and they had another one for 100 bucks. Buy it now, and I clicked by before I even thought about it. So I got them both for 200 and whatever 20 bucks with tax and he even combine shipping for me. That was a good day on the flea Bay.

It’s wild how most of those Ehrlich meerschaums are in such fine condition.
I smoked these days are going for high 200s and up. I’m lucky i got in on them a couple years ago so picked up a few in the 150 range. I can’t believe how lucky i got with these 2 and yes i promised my friend one and he told me i can keep it if i want but the point was to score him one. He’s only been smoking meers for 3 weeks and he’s hooked and even said he’s pretty much done with briar.

Here’s a tiny little turn of the century Austrian meer bulldog I made a silver band from sterling sheet for and re—stemmed in what I refer to as “fruit salad” acrylic.

Where do I get some of that acrylic? A few years ago, I was talking with someone here (maybe you?) about re-stemming a little antique meer I have with a tiny diamond saddle stem. I would LOVE to have that acrylic color for it, for whoever can make a proper stem.

I get that rod from Vermont Freehand, it’s called “Amber Extra”

I find that it WAS indeed you with whom I discussed getting a stem cut! I have this tiny meerschaum; the stem is saddle-type with very sharply-squared shoulders. I glued it back together, but you can see the large chip missing. I had hoped that either a color similar to the original amber, or a clear "apple juice" color, was available, but this "extra amber" looks great. You quoted me around $60 to cut a replacement, said you'd get back to me when you had more time, but then my life got hectic and I completely forgot about it.

Incidentally, have you ever seen acrylic rod in this color? (Also attached) I have ONLY seen this color used in very late-production CAO pipes, specifically Ismet Bekler's carvings, anmd nowhere else. Transparent golden with brown webbing.

I have not seen that color available and I doubt it’s actually acrylic, it’s probably polyester resin. It is cool though.

That would be perfect for me. Could you cut me a stem? I have the funds right away, if it's under $100 (you quoted $60 before, I know it might be more now).

Oh, yes: another color I'd be happy with, if it's available in lucite, is a dark transparent red like Redmanol bakelite.
