Meerschaum pipe purchased on EBAY 7/30, Seller in England, sent UPS for 26.58, received 8/4 (!). I guess in near future UPS will bill me for damages (import duties, custom's fees, tariffs > 😖). Interesting it has two presentation sterling escutcheons on the case, dated 1873 and, fast forward, 1956. I think he looks alive 😃! (my unsophisticated highest praise).

Haven't been very productive this afternoon so I'm having a smoke of a fresh tin of Peterson Navy Rolls. I like it a lot but a few years makes it a lot better in my opinion. This tin arrived open from Canada customs, so I figured I'd 20250806_203046.jpgsmoke it. Currently smoking an Altinay

Maybe this looks a bit gimmicky but when I was a kid (showing my age here), as a 9 year old in 1970, I watched the Walt Disney rebroadcast of: "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh." I found that mask, never quite forgotten, both thrilling and terrifying. And the main character, Doctor Christopher Syn, a Vicar by day, and at night an anti-Monarchist known to the King's men as 'The Scarecrow', [cue the theme song: "Scarecrow, Scarecrow, the soldiers of the King feared his name..."] sort of an 18th Century English vigilante dispensing justice Robin Hood style on behalf of the commoners. Fast forward to a couple months back, I saw this S. Yanik Meerschaum pipe and the memory of watching those three episodes long ago in 1970- never quite forgotten, came flooding back. I messaged S. Yanik with my order and he replied he was happy his creation facilitated my reconnection with my younger self. And no, I'm not looking for a Meerschaum G.I.Joe or Hot Wheels or anything like that- it was a one time nostalgic indulgence, a happy confluence of childhood memory and disposable income.

Ask first, some of us don't care for the whole following feature. I try to dissuade members politely from following me with my signature.
Sorry, i was clueless.... I figured it was a way to stay up with posts from members with similar interests or those with deeper knowledge. I certainly did not wish to look like a newbie fanboy.
