Pumpkins designed and carved by my boys. Fits their personalities pretty well. We had a lot of fun terrorizing Mommy with the pumpkin guts I pulled out of them.

As my girls were growing up, we only painted the faces on the pumpkins, because the smell of candle warmed rotting pumpkins tended to attract animals to our porch. We haven't decorated for any holidays since the kids moved out. I am in no hurry, but if I ever have grandkids, then maybe I would get back into decorating. But, none of us really get excited about having little kids around at the moment. I'm enjoying seeing my kids all build careers and businesses and travelling.

I went to a local Methodist church with a big lawn area where they have an annual pumpkin sale to support their youth groups. All of the larger pumpkins (and they weren't very large) had some kind of blight, with white soft places. So I had to get a little pumpkin about a foot high to carve, not having time to shop more. My wife was admirably forgiving but also recommended also putting up our large plastic pumpkin with an electric bulb. My style tends to be totally traditional, big smile, one or two teeth, wide eyes. Some great carving on this thread. Good work. Pumpkin smashing isn't too big in this area. However, in the 1970's, my late wife and I built a tall snow woman who was brutally bashed. All in good fun?
Mine is the last . Both will be lit on fire simultaneously using lamp fuel and cotton swabsWent to a local pumpkin carver Miller’s , guy intricately carves hundreds of pumpkins , no charge .. he had 20 Disney pumpkins, 20 pumpkins dedicated to our country and services, you name it , awesome here’s a few of my favs or pumpkins related to this group
