I don't think we have a show off thread dedicated to Ferndown pipes, so I'll kick it off. I have two on my rack:
3 Star Bark, my first Ferndown. This one is reserved for Sunday morning smokes.
Beautiful pipes, gentlemen. How are the airways on Ferndown pipes? I've heard they are drilled somewhat less open than Ashtons, for example.
BTW, that's one snazzy poker, Bradley.
Pitchfork: I find the draft hole and draw on my Ferndowns to be quite similar to my Upshalls. That bent Dublin passes a thin pipe cleaner but not a thick one. I don't like too wide an open draw (ie Castello) and learned not to pack them too tightly. I really like the way both of mine smoke and would love to add another. Perhaps it is because this brand uses oil-cured briar? Ferndowns are always quite large, again like Upshall in that respect (the Stars denote the size of the bowl, 3 star the largest)
