My wife calls them nutsack pipes, so i have one traditional one, a Cellini and a Patent numbered Dunhill Shell. Personally I find Cavalier pipes less provocative than Todd Johnson's cock n ball affairs, but maybe that's just me.

It's removable (mostly threaded, some friction fit) to drain any accumulated moisture.
Each section is removable and it can perfectly balance on its foot to stand up.
This is a Savinelli Meerschaum Tirolean with cherry shank and horn stem with orific bit from the shop run by Angelo Savinelli located at Galleria Mazzini 31 in Genova, Italy, probably from the late 19th or early 20th Century next to a modern day Savinelli Tirolean from the more famous Achille branch of the family:
