The inaugural meeting of the Downriver Pipe Club (which I just made up because Hey there ARE two of us within 15 mins of each other) was a smashing success. Es0teric PM'd me and kindly invited me over for a smoke and a visit, and was even so kind as to gift this n00b piper a dozen different samples of various tobaccos, thoughtfully bagged and jarred, an array of balsa and paper filters, and even a beautiful amber stem for my stolid fleet of viciously smoked cobs.

It was a wonderful gift and I'm eternally grateful, and I can only hope that one day, when I too have a well-stocked cellar and several years of experience, that I can pay it forward and nudge another new piper along on their journey. In the meantime however, Es0teric has admitted inexperience with nasal snuffs, so our next meeting will include a side trip into sniffable delicacies from my modest collection.

Oh and uh, if anyone else lives in the Downriver area of Detroit, let us know!

A cigar buddy mentioned sometime ago that he wouldn't mind trying out a pipe and was in the market for one. I had a few that Were surplus to my needs, so I cleaned them up and gifted them with a few samples of tobacco.

That gesture has been repaid in spades, as I now have a (semi-) regular pipe buddy who shares his (new to me) stash of tobacco.

Gifted a friend right before pandemic with a pipe and things to go with it. Haven't seen him in awhile. I think it's about time for some beer and smoke. And he does have a pouch of CH I gave to him with a pipe.
