Should I Smoke It?

So I picked up a vintage Decatur pipe rack with (attached cork lined humidor) recently. Inside it was an unknown tobacco in a plastic bag that appears to be a very dry. There is an overwhelming heavy honey note to it.

I emailed the seller to inquire its origin, but he advised that it was in the humidor when he acquired it, so didn't know what it was.

I bought this full opened tin of BBB Sweet Cloud in an antique shop for $5. I never smoked any of it. No idea how many people in the antique shop opened it and sniffed it. I just wanted the tin.

Very good points about unknown people sticking their fingers and noses in it. It smells really old too. I imagine it’s sat for some time….a dead man’s tobacco that finally got picked up by an antique shop.

I always figure it’s good to have an adventure. Maybe it will be amazing.

However the honey smell suggests an aromatic, so probably not worth it.

That could be loaded with all kinds of nasty things. I would never smoke it. You want to smoke, go to a pipe shop near you or go on line and go to smokingpipes.com. Grab a bunch of samples and see if you find something you like. I believe you should go for the gold and don't look back. Capstan Blue Flake, Peterson Deluxe Navy Rolls and Mac Baren Old Dark Fired. Both are easy to get and they goth taste great when you learn how to smoke them. I would go with cube cutting and then research folded and stuffed. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the journey.
