Should I be Skeptical of Inexpensive Meerschaum Pipes?

I see now, the color variance made me jump to that conclusion, same pipe, just separated in time

Not much time difference just the difference if indoor lighting versus natural.

Lower priced meerschaums might have less sharp shaping or carving. The stem and tenon fittings may be lower quality. Probably still smoke okay though.

I'd bet the bad guys clothes survived that blast completely undamaged. 1970s polyester was indestructible...

Why particularly meerschaum ? Wouldn't over-priced ANYTHING suck?
