Wife and I got the Vaccine today , only 2 old couples at Super 1 Pharmacy and Supermarket, Appointmrnt at Noon, I and wife showed up at 11:30, my old military training, be on time, Wife while waiting picked up odds and ends. I people watched, DONT get out much, I stay on the farm. Dirty jeans, Obese women, I’m not skinny but I’m clean, young black man walking a little girl with jean shorts under his butt, so low he had to crab walk. Got the shot, went to feed store for the animals, when I got home my appreciation for my farm made my happy face light up. If the weather would have cooperated I’d have lit up a good cigar, but cold front and rain howling.

Had mine Friday last in my sitting room. All was well at first but come about 9PM I started to feel chilly despite indoor temp being 23.4 degrees.

Come 10PM I was really suffering, chills, headache, nausea, woozy feeling.....the whole caboodle!

Gave up on my bourbon (a first for me) and hit the sack early. Was lying in bed with the warming blanket on full yet shaking like a jelly with cold! Thumping head, head spinning, tired as a dog but couldn't sleep.

I cant wait for jab #2 ?

Seriously guys, not everyone suffers side effects so get it once offered.

Regards,

Jay.?

Got the second jab last Tuesday up at Dodger Stadium.
The 150 acre parking lot was turned into a giant intestine, with rows marked by traffic cones, that zigzagged back and forth until we reached the rows of pavilions where the shots were administered.
A battalion of volunteers kept the cars moving along.
Rolled down the window, stuck out my arm, got the shot, waited 15 minutes, then home.
Outside of a little soreness at the injection site no other reactions. No fever, no nausea, no nothing. Met up with friends the next day and did a seven mile walk and had dinner afterwards.

My wife and I got our Johnson & Johnson shots yesterday. We’re done!

Houston received 12,000 vaccines last week. Our population is 2.3 million. But on a long shot, we signed up with the city health organization. We are both in Phase 1B.

I was offered the other vaccines a few weeks ago, but feel more comfortable with the J&J technology.

I've always hated going out in public. So 2020, was no different than any other year.

I had the Pfizer jab and so did my dad, neither of us had any side effects. My mum had a different brand and described having some chills, flu etc. It went away the next day though.

They've done a good job of rolling the vaccine out over here and the infection rates are dropping rapidly especially in the elderly community.

Got my first dose of the Moderna version on Monday at Kaiser (a big HMO and provider out here in the West). I qualify because I work in food service. The process couldn't have been easier. Everyone was super efficient and helpful. It took about 5 minutes to sign in and get the shot, then they made me wait in an observation area for about 15 minutes. No side effects except for a bit of tenderness at the injection site, but very mild. I go back on 4/5 to get the follow-up.

I am thrilled to get it. In addition to preventing me from getting the bug, I feel like it is my civic duty to get it, so we can hopefully start getting back to normal.

I know what you mean. I never knew so much about the Walgreen inventory -- beer, cat litter, business envelopes, razor blades. Now an errand is like a day trip. We have our second dose a week from Saturday, not at Walgreen, but in the parking lot of the local hockey stadium. For the first dose, they routed us around about 300 acres, though cones and several tent villages. I thought check-in was it, but there were four or five stations. People gesturing to show which way to turn, and traffic cones by the hundreds, and big signs, and more workers than vaccine recipients. All it needed was an Italian street band to make it a sort of festival. They park you in a special zone to monitor any allergic reactions. I'd rather have gone to the drug store, but we took what we could get. And it was close to home. My friend in Louisiana had his second shot weeks ago.

I got the shot last Sunday and it was a bit of a bother. Took 45 minutes to complete the process. I had the wife in tow who hasn't seen a doctor in forever and the young clerk (male) just wanted to gab forever. I think what happened we were scheduled for 1:10 PM and the staff was a little late in getting back from lunch. So 20 minutes to get signed in, and 10 minutes to get the shot, and waiting for 15 minutes to be sure their were no side effects. So while I do get aggravated at a doctor's office this was okay.

I got my shots back in January, second dose (Pfizer) gave me a pretty wicked hangover the next day (fever, aches, chills, fatigue).

A number of states are rolling out standby lists, where you can sign up for any unused doses at a clinic with short notice. There’s a site called Dr. B that covers a few areas, but I know our university hospitals here have a similar list on their website: sign up, wait by the phone, be there in 30min if it’s available.

"I feel like it is my civic duty to get it, so we can hopefully start getting back to normal."

How true Danimalia. People need to understand that we are only safe when everyone is safe.

On another tack, the BBC were saying last week we all may need a booster jab come autumn/fall.

Regards,

Jay.
