Shopping for a good clay pipe.

I am looking to get a clay pipe next month and wanted to know where i could get one with nice thick walls about 8-10 inches long. Any suggestions?

I have been trying to find a nice thick one myself, and they arent readily available as far as I can tell. I have ordered a couple and so far my favorite (by alot) is the sherlock pipe by penn valley pipe works at pipeshoppe.com
That one is the definite winner by alot

thesmokindragon had a pic on another post but it didn't give the manufacturer it looked nice. kinda hope he hits this post and lets us know.

The one being advertised in that other post selling for $35./ea looks

like the real-deal, thick walls but only listing at 5 1/2" in length which IMO,

from a break-point is my desired length for a clay, with the size/thickness

of bowl they are showing in the image it looks very nice

My daughter gave me one of those for Xmas. I haven't smoked it yet, was waiting for St Pat's day. I'll investigate it further when I get home tonight and try to post some pics and measurements.

I love it. Is the bowl thicker than the average clay pipe? I won't be up for an acctual buy till next month but I want to get the info now for shopping then.

The owner grants excellent customer service.
You can try pamplin clay bowl with reed stem. I have not tried it yet, but my package is on the way.
You can also try Dawnmist Studio The pipe-maker will be making new pipes in mid-Feb, so you would have some time to choose which one you would like to order.
But, is clay pipe with thick wall somehow better than other ones? I think they are just all the same...

I have the Dutch Gouda from PV, fantastic clay, I smoke her daily w/morning cup-o-mud
When I first received it I was like WOW , small bowl with thin walls...

now the small bowl happens to take an entire flake in it ;-) but it does have

thin bowl walls, so don't go jack-hammer'in the packing or you could crack the

thing
