Visiting a cigar/pipe shop in a nearby town, they had some tins of Peterson and others, but there were two tins of McClellands Arcadia from 2014. I got a break on the price since they were old. Hmmmmmm OK!

We usually pay up for vintage tins. Not sure if these guys realized pipe tobacco gets better with age.

Only two years old. Now to decide whether to smoke it up or let it age. Maybe one tin for each possibility. I'm holding my Christmas Cheer 2015.

The pipes gods are smiling, Jason.
Slap leather and pay the bill, hoss.
Caveat emptor.(You're at risk buying older tobaccos that might've been improperly stored.) It really is a double edged sword.

I recently placed an order online of twelve different tins of McClelland pipe tobacco and some of them are over ten years old!

My tobacconist has 3 year old Dunhill flake on the shelves. Bad news is: Canadian prices. Every once in a while I can afford to post bail on one of those bad boys.

It seems whenever I pick up tins from a small B&M they have slight oxidization damage on the inside. I'd venture to guess lagging sales is the culprit.
