Since I don't have room for an adequate real buffer and all the steps that need to be taken to rev it down for pipe buffing, I was wondering if a shoe buffer would work for buffing/polishing pipes. One of those battery operated ones could not have extreme RPM's anyway. Of course, it would only be used for pipes. Do you think this would work?

Does anybody have a circuit schematic for a motor control?

I think member Fhb2532, Frank would know how to do it.

.

BTW, has anybody heard from Frank lately? Seems like he's been under the radar.

Ok, I'll wait till I see a new one going for an ok price somewheres and pick one up and give it a try. If not, guess I'll have really shiny shoes instead. By the way uncle and cortezattic, I love those before and after pics of refurbs, gives me inspiration! got any to share??? Some sunny day, I'd love to have a little proper refurb station with proper equipment and get good at it.

hummm, thanks manytrees, I'll have to think of that when I'm looking for one. I'm not sure what kind of pads come on them at all.

I have thought of using a shoe buffer also, but since I had seen no one mention it before I assumed that it was understood as a bad idea... I guess it never hurts to ask!

That link, igloo, is all greek to me...
The only tech word I understood in that whole thing was EEPROM. All the others lost me. Electrical is too close to math for my liking...
