I see all movies including IMAX 3D movies for free. The perk of having a girlfriend who works as a part-time supervisor at our local AMC.
The only drawback, if the movie is crowded we can't go because paying customers have priority. We wanted to see the new Sherlock movie last night but it was packed so we saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol instead. Very good movie, but we are definitely going to go see Sherlock Holmes next once the crowds die down a bit.

I plan to see it during the week. I prefer to wait until the crowds are smaller. Nothing takes the place of the big screen but the lack of manners of today's movie goers; cell phones, constanty texting & talking, really sucks the fun out of going to the movies.

Ok old codger rant over....I enjoyed the first movie, heck, I even enjoy the Basil Rathbone series!I read the stories when I was a kid; I should reread them, I'm curious as to how they hold up.

I'll have my favorite bent pipe in my pocket when I do see the movie.

Won't spoil it for anyone, but I will say A Game of Shadows was even better than the first one!
As for the pipes I much liked the one he had the majority of the time, the one he is smoking towards the end that plays the pivotal role. Any ideas on what kind that was? My guess is it's some BC cause it had the typical small white band between the shank and the stem. Regardless of make it was a cool looking pipe.

I'm waiting on the DVD. I use to go to the movies a lot "BC" as in before children.

Yea lots of critics ripped it up, but I'm with LOTPRs on this one. It was great. I'm not sure if I liked it better than the first, but it's definitely the same caliber film. Very enjoyable, great story, and of course great acting.

Ok so i saw it last night, I loved it, ive read every holmes story and thought the movie was very good, despite the inaccurate watson. A+

Yeah some things concerning Watson are a bit inaccurate. Would have been hard for Doyle's Watson to have tea with Mary's parents considering her mother died when she was young and her father died before she even met Watson. Which begs the question, will they write her out of a third movie should one be made? In the stories Mary has passed away after Holmes goes over the falls with Moriarty. Missed the musical reference when Holmes was on the Shetland pony. Good catch there.

I've never read any of the Sherlock Holmes books.
But I just got done watching A Game of Shadows and I haven't enjoyed a movie this thoroughly in a long time.
