Someone said, death ends a life but not a relationship, and that seems to be true.

That is a haunting photo booth portrait. My current wife and I went to Chartre from Paris and missed the late train and ended up staying in a monastery. After our beautiful but strange trip, we spotted a photo booth and sat for a picture, and it has a different aura -- we were in our sixties -- but was both weary and joyous, caught in the same sort of existential moment.

I'm so sorry to hear this, embers, even though it happened many many years ago. The grief from a loss like that, especially at such a young age, is something we carry with us for the rest of our lives. Beautiful picture, and a beautiful tribute. Thinking of you this evening, man.

I'm sorry for your loss. A guy I like wrote "... it is arguable whether anyone ever truly recovers from anything.”
For me a picture of a friend, a dream where your papaw is there and you remember he's dead and run and hug his neck and don't let go, just watching your child and thinking how much fun your sister would have had spoiling her, and the pain is back and fresh as the moment the knife went in your heart.
Here's hoping the pain sinks back down where it normally lurks.

A heartfelt thanks to all of you of the forum. Most years pass and feelings for her always rise on certain days of the year, but for some reason it was just too much to bear this year and I needed to let it out somehow. As loving and understanding as my wife is, it would be unfair to drop this on her after everything we've weathered together and worked for.

She doesn't read your posts, does she?

I feel your pain in a way bro. My best friend passed away 13 years ago now. Still think about Seth almost every day. There’s no great way to get over something like this besides finding other outlets of distraction. Here’s to hoping the pain subsides. ?

So sorry to read this - simply cannot imagine. I hope you're taking time to smoke something special and breathe the air today. Glad you've got a family at home and children to brighten your day a little.

The photo of this couple was taken twenty-six years ago when they returned from their honeymoon and decided a photo booth looked like fun. Both of them freshly twenty years old and nothing but big plans of future and family before them. Six months after the picture was taken, the husband was laying his beautiful young wife to rest and the person he was simply ceased to exist. Today she would have been 46 and even though he managed to carry on without her, every October 17th he lights a candle for her birthday.

Very sad. Truly, this exile, is a vale of tears.

Can you translate the rune script? Just curious.....
