Wanted to share something I came up with recently.
For those that like shag cut, you can make any cut into a shag in seconds.
just take your flake or ribbon, ball it up with your fingers and rub slowly but very
firmly between your hands. Should only take about 10 seconds. Fluff our your
new ball of shag and allow to dry ( for some reason this really brings out the moisture).

This may not work for crumble cake since its not long strands.

Enjoy

I do rub out flake/coin/plug/and rope after slicing if appropriate, and I do get much smaller pieces, but I don't seem to get the almost fluffy texture of much shag tobacco, or not like Tabac-Manil Petite Robin, or even as fine as Five Brothers, but now that you've described this, I'll try harder. Shag burns pretty fast. If you rub it out but leave it in larger pieces, often these cuts will burn for a long time, for example in a small chambered pipe, and give a fuller length smoke.
