It'd kind of convenient that a litre of water is a kilogram and that 1,000 litres is a metric ton (2,204 lb, not too far off Imperial). Now when you see waves crashing over your yacht in a force 7, you can visualize the tonnage involved in that dynamic. So to conclude, it's useful for making yourself jolly fwightened.

7,000,000 liters is 250,000 cubic feet, which is the volume of a 400 foot-per-side cube.

Cut the cube in thirds horizontally and lay them end-to-end like a fish tank, and it would be 130 feet deep, 400 feet wide, and 1200 feet long.

The QM was just over 1000 feet long and had a 40 foot draft.

That's some serious beer guzzlin' rat thar...
