@NevadaBlue - haha This particular store is three hours away from my home.
@Davet - The struggle is real. Be happy you cannot smell the photos from 'PeopleOfWalmart'
@Everyone curious as to the usage and disambiguation of the term 'Boofer'
The origins are a little sad. In Butler Pennsylvania it is actually a surname of a clan of ne'er-do-wells. Anyone displaying that 'couch on the front porch' type of behavior or appearance would be called 'Boofer' in jest. The word is used colloquially in small pockets throughout the western PA area to include Butler, surrounding small towns, and Pittsburgh.
I have nothing against the family. It is just a bit of vernacular I grew up with.

@hobie1dog There is no shame in needing a power-chair and I certainly did not mean to imply that. I myself am a disabled veteran and will almost certainly find myself in one at some point. The average person I see at that store is abusing the provided chair service out of laziness rather than need.

kodos44: Well, at least you help keep the stores stocked for those of us who shop Walmart on occasion. For that I thank you. So,(I can't resist) kudos to kodos. Sorry!
I've never had a problem finding lighter fluid at Safeway, Walmart. Fred Meyers, our local, wee, chain of smoke shops. Now, good grade gas? Sometimes that's a problem.

I get my Zippo fuel from our pound shop, yes a pound.

Always chuckle, "how much?"

It's not Zippo fluid but Bull blend. Still great.

Same for the origin of the word 'hooligan'. Apparently the Hooligans or O'Hooligans were a trouble making family in some part of Ireland many moons ago.
"Maybe some folks in these parts will buy anything that's been distilled."

Very good MSO489

The Zippo Maneuver is now complete; I found both 4 and 12oz cans at the local Smoke Stop (which was closed last night hence the trip to Wally's). $4.99 for the 12oz can.
Thanks to all for your co-commiseration.

@NevadaBlue Hahaha
@Jay I think I heard that before. Funny how language(English in particular)evolves. My family name is Graham and here in western PA, one may also find those with the surname Maharg. Originally of the same clan, one branch of the family was convicted of horse-thievery back in the day and were forced to change their names by the others.
@Cosmic Ha! I can imagine running endless laps, had I been on that team as a youth..

If they sell it, their customers -- who include the deranged, because they have the widest customer base of any store -- will do stupid stuff with it, like huffing it or setting their genitals on fire (Darwin says this is a Good Idea).
The Walmarts around here are hysterical. About 10% upper middle class people, and the rest are so varied it is impossible to put a term on them, with only about half of them being impoverished or "redneck," as the stereotype goes. Guess we can see American society at its purest in a Walmart.

Disclosure: I spend a lot of time in my powerchair since losing 60% of the muscles in my arms and legs, walking is very difficult. I knew instantly when I sat on a scooter in a WalMart that it was the low point of my life, and I haven't been back there since. :|

My, my, we certainly are a judgemental bunch today. Even as we resent being judged by non-smokers and the anti-tobacco crowd, insurance companies, employers, etc. I love it even while being a bit saddened by such. I learn a lot though. Who is bitter. Who isn't. Who accepts people as they are. Who is or isn't insular. Fascinating! :worship:

I haven't anything bad to say about Wal Mart. In the leaner times, their prices and ease of access made a lot more possible for my family. They employ a LOT of people as well - granted their employer practices are questionable sometimes, but sometimes a job is a job.

When they built the WalMart just outside of my hometown, it killed all the downtown businesses that carried quality merchandise. People don't seem to be concerned with quality anymore, its just how cheap the price is. But let's not open up this can of worms. :nana:

A buck doesn't go nearly as far these days as it used to. Wages haven't kept up with inflation... But we won't open that can of worms either.
