Not only topped, but badly topped. The new rim is not perpendicular to the axis of the bowl. 8O
I wonder what the stain matching looks like when viewed in sunlight... getting that exactly right is really, really tough.
It will be interesting to see if this pipe shows up for sale again in a few weeks.

Notice the lighting of this photo is from bottom left, leaving the rim in just enough shadow to prove George's point.
So, you don't need Photoshop to be deceiving, just clever lighting.

I am assuming. Topping is chopping of part of the rim?

Topping is shaving off the rim to remove damage, such as tapping dents, burns, etc.
