Jesse, how does Al Pascia get their pics to look so amazing? The lighting is amazing and you can see every little grain on the pipes. As much as I love SP( been a loyal customer since they started), they should be taking pictures of that quality. I sometimes just look at pipe after pipe at Pascia because the pics are so clear and bright.

Well, I'm not as enamored as are you. The intense light reflection on the smooths hides a lot of the surface. But the effect is very punchy. If I were going to make a guess it would be that they're using two dual tube banks of full spectrum fluorescents, mounted overhead at maybe 30˚ to 45˚ off the plane of the bed. Then there's some fill coming off of the white surround. And it looks to me like they're added some contrast adjustment to that as well, probably using Photoshop.

You don't need PS to hide things. Notice the blown highlights in the below photo. Could be flaws in that area. I sincerely doubt that a company of Al Pascia's standing would purposely do such a thing.

No, I don't think that they are using Photoshop to hide things. I think that they are adjusting levels to give the shot more visual snap. They may also be using a full spectrum light box under the pipe as well.
The best pipe pictures I've seen have come from several members on this forum.

Ebay gives you space for 12 pictures. I say take advantage of that.......... digital is free! Nothing worse than a pipe listing with 2-4 pics, IMO.......... :evil:
