Its 1-2 bowls a day for me. I cant control the temps or humidity so I try to find a comfortable spot out of the wind or in the shade and burn it down!

Being in Az my smoking is limited to the garage which is cooled and/or going to a local cigar shop. I think it is about 1-2 bowls a week. Winter time here is wonderful and pick it up to about 5-6 bowls a week.

I too smoke only outside so as the temperature drops here in Scotland I tend to smoke less in winter if at all, I’d like to build a shed or outside shop as a place to go but for now it’s definitely seasonal. Gives me a chance to replenish my tobacco stocks.

I dont understand about forcing oneself to have a pipe outside in unfavourable weather.

Smoke inside from time to time in winter- loved ones will understand; they dont want you catching a cold.

Unless you live in a small apartment I suppose.

I smoke outdoors only. As much as I am in love with smoking a pipe every day, I can see myself taking a pause during the more brutal parts of winter. As I have gotten older, the cold feels more ruinous and piercing than before. Although, where there's a will, there is a way to jedi mind trick myself into believing I am not as cold as I really am just to enjoy a pipe.

One day at a time, I’ll let ya know when I get there... LOL ?

But seriously, to be honest, it’s however I feel at any given time. Days, weeks, months, years, seasons, all the same to me.

I am one of those strange individuals who loves the cold winter, even the bitter cold. I smoke exclusively outside. Thus my frequency increases to about 1-2x per week during the Fall and winter, and maybe once a month during the summer. I find it absolutely exhilarating to smoke bundled up against the cold. I gear up with, amongst other items, a down feather smoking vest; and the briar warms my hands. It is as close to heaven for me on this side of glory. ☃️
When I was younger, like late teens, through my late 20s, I absolutely loved fall and wintertime. Then somewhere in my 30s I noticed I became increasingly more intolerant of the cold, and hates doing anything in the cold. Which of course led to me feeling trapped inside. Which I’m not a fan of.

But as I turned into a warm-weather creature, I began to observe the following about human animals:

In the summer, many of the
complain about the heat. In the winter, many of them complain about the cold.

So we’re either never satisfied (like Prince’s mother was…I learned this from When Doves Cry)… or they really REALLY enjoy complaining about the weather.
