hey pipe smoking guy here in north of scotland.

seems a bit barren for smokers of the pipe up here. anyone in scotland or likely to be who wants to meet for smoke and tobacco reviews? Into history and cultured conversation. and a good drink!!!

My grandfather was born in Kilmarnock, that's the closest I've been.

Maybe if the wind is blowing right, you can stick your nose out the window and catch a faint whiff of this MacBarens I'm puffing in Texas.

Otherwise, we'll have to find a better time to get together for a smoke.

Welcome iainmac. I'm new to the forum too. Great discussions here, I've learned alot. My wife and I will be in Scotland in July. We are walking across England at Hadrians wall, all 84 miles from Carlisle to Newcastle Upon Tyne. Should be fun. Then up to Edinburgh to catch our breath, have some Scotch and a pipe!

Not in Scotland, but my Grandfather always claimed we were from Scotland. This is not entirely true since his Grandfather was born in Ireland, bit he insists our last name is Scottish. So, I like to flit between being Scottish & Irish depending on what I'm drinking.

Welcome, I want to visit Scotland. My parents go every other year and I hate having to see the pictures because of the envy. I have found a great series of books by Ian Rankin I have been reading and that makes me want to go more. He goes into such detail on the little streets and such, I would love to see them for myself so I can picture it better. Oh well, I have a long life ahead maybe someday.

Welcome…
You know I do believe if we drink enough Lagavulin at the exact same time we could end up in the same place... :puffy:
