Oban, Macallam. For a mere $600 you can get the Macallam 25 year-old. The single malts have gotten ridicuously expensive. For a blended scoth Famous Grouse is very good and their Black Grouse is nice as well.
Laphroiag 10 yr. is my everyday scotch and Lagavulin 16yr. is my once in a while treat. They are both very heavily peated and very delicious. The Islay whiskys are going to be the most peated.
I second the Laphroaig. The quarter-cask is especially peaty. Like a campfire. The next day.
Also, Scapa is a nice Orkney Islands peaty drink if you can find it.
