Update to my post..I've checked the numbers again and here they are.
Pack of 20 cigarettes $8.50
100g tin of Mac Baren Original Choice $74
If a pack of cigarettes is 20 grams then the "equivalent" pricing is...100g cigarettes $42.50 100g pipe tobacco $74
So, not triple the cost, for sure, but certainly almost double.

A pack of cigarettes will most probably have not more than 14g of tobacco.

For instance, Vantage King Size has 12g, Camel Blue even less than that: http://ingredients.jti.com/per-product/CANADA/Cigarette/Camel-Blue-King-Size/#main_content

In twenty years, tobacco will be illegal, books will no longer be on a printed page, and movie theaters will be a thing of the past. The world I grew up in and love is dying. The brave new world can kiss my ass.

...in Canada? This must be B&M pricing, because you could buy from online much cheaper than that.
Yup....online purchases are not an option here from domestic suppliers as they will not send tobacco products by mail. I think its actually the law here.
I just placed an order for two tins of Original Choice from 4noggins. 200 grams, shipped, after accounting for the exchange rate, came to $55 CDN.
If I gave you a choice of 1 tin for $74 or two tins for $55, which would you take :)

I have no idea what a CDN is worth in real money, are they like pesos?
Ummm..not quite :)
1 Canadian dollar is worth $0.77 US today
In other words, for every US dollar in my 4noggins cart, I pay about $1.33
My complete order came to just under $40 US including shipping, so the $55 I quoted was probably a bit high, but the bank charges for the currency exchange.

Just wait until you get an order nabbed by Canada Customs with the tax and duty they add and the $10 charge from Canada Post for collecting the charges from customs. :crying:

I'm sure that at some point I'll get busted. That's why I keep my orders to small amounts, in hopes that they see a value small enough not to be bothered...not sure how good my reasoning is.

I would agree that money is certainly a factor but I would add that it is more about control. Control over the lives of people is at the root of the European Union, and the globalist movement in general. Reference was made to Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World," and it's an accurate analogy to the state of the world today. The same can be said of George Orwell's "1984," and "Animal Farm" as well.
Huxley and Orwell wrote these novels as cautionary tales; to warn us of what might happen but instead of heeding their warning we allowed an unelected, bureaucratic, regulatory "state" to use them as "how-to" manuals.
Brexit was a step in the right direction as was the U.S. Election. It looks like France, and possibly Italy will follow Britain out of the EU as well. Let's hope...
The best antidote for 1984 is 1776, and if the globalists can't read the writing on the wall, perhaps they'll need a taste of 1793-1794.
