This belongs to my buddy, Dave. He sure knows hoe to pick them out.
This thing is large, Group 6-ish with an excellent blast (bowl is 2 1/4" deep)
I didn't find out much about the brand, other than that they are a sub-brand of Dunhill.
Full restoration details are here:

Looks good Al. First prize goes to the person who can find a corresponding shape number 189 from the Dunhill/Parker/Hardcastle world. It does look like the Parker type font...

the Argyll is a line of pipes. There is also a Savory Semi Matte, Savory Naturel in the catalog. I have also seen savory: Curzon, Ludlow, and Mayfield. Argyll being the most common savory line.

Savory is an old Dunhill/Parker made pipe. I have had several Parker 189s and I always thought of it as the poor-mans' 120, so to speak.

Here is the Savory sandblast, from late great old friend M. Reshcke.

Nice one! Savorys were a tobacco store in Oxford and Dunhill used to supply them with pipes under their name.

I think they closed down before I could sell Upshalls or Tilshead pipes to them. I think my memory is fading - did I sell pipes to Savorys? I think Dunhill insisted that they did not buy any pipes from me!

Speaking of memory fading: Were there not several pipe stores in The Burlington Arcade? I loved that place, and it was extra special as that was the name of the blend I smoked 50 years ago. There sure aren't any there now, and the tobacco I loved went bye-bye 20-30 years ago. (Harry S Tint and Sons, Philly)

Yes, I remember H. Simmonds and of course Sullivan Powell. I used to supply Sullivan Powell and the manager was Harry Horowitz. He was so passionate about James Upshall and sold a huge quantity of them (in such a small shop). Just around the corner was Fox and sons (I think Mr Anderson was the manager )in Albermarle Street, and of course the Benson and Hedges shop 'round the corner in Bond Street. Thanks for the memory triggers!
