Nothing at all.

I admit I do this too on some I forgot to put the adapter in but am too lazy to go get them out of the stored boxes. :)

It really makes no difference except when cleaning out the stem you have to double over your pipe cleaner for part of the cleaning.

Heck it might even offer a SLIGHT calabash effect being that there is a sort of internal chamber to cool and dry? What the hell do I know? LOL! puffy

Nothing at all.
So I got it in the mail today, and I’m on my second bowl with it now.

“Nothing at all” was indeed the way to go, embers. The filter tightened the draw up way too much for my tastes, and so did the adapter. The empty stem is just about right. If it were even a touch more open, like my cobs, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings, but this is certainly as good as the draw on my other briar pipes, and smokes great like this. Even the first bowl was good, which is usually hit or miss with a new pipe.

I am smoking a Savinelli right now without a filter or adapter. I’m curious, what is the benefit of using an adapter in your pipe? This pipe seems to smoke really well as he is, so I am wondering about the benefits of such an adapter.

If you like the tighter draw that the filter gives, but don’t want your smoke filtered, you can use the adapter. It might make cleaning a little easier too, but I kind of doubt it.

Nice! I like the pearl-esque stem. Mine was suppose to be delivered today as well, but POS UPS handed it off to USPS, so delivery date is now Tuesday. Not losing any sleep over it, but this handing off BS is getting old...

Yeah, I’m not a fan of that either. It’s pretty much a given that you need to tack a day or two onto their predicted delivery date when it’s Surepost.
