I recently purchased a smooth slightly bent 121KS shape with a wonderful flame grain. However the pipes are all listed as no filter pipes. It turns out, they are actually standard Savinelli 6mm designs fitted with a filter replacement piece. I have another Savinelli where I fitted the pipe in this way. I find this makes using pipe cleaner while smoking nearly impossible. I realize that if I just broke down and stuck in a balsa or carbon filter, the need for a sopping up is very rare. And I don’t smoke particularly wet, but sometimes a cleaner is needed. Oh well… I feel a little duped.

I've looked them up on 3 sites. I didn't go through the lot but all those I checked out are advertised as 'Filter: none'.
If it said 'Filter: none' in your pipe description and it's a 6mm, you should return it as you obviously did not want a filter.
A 6mm filter with a 3mm is not a 'filter: none' pipe.
Otherwise, you'll be disappointed, will regret keeping and all the fun will be taken out of it. Especially considering they are not exactly inexpensive. :)

A 6mm air channel opening is not insignificant and generates a lot more moisture than a 3mm; I've noticed the smoking can get somewhat unpleasant at times: wet, on the harsh side, etc.

I agree. If you got a product you were unhappy with, you should return it. The description did not match the actual item.

I’d definitely let the vendor know you are disappointed, and why. Were it me and I expected to receive a non-filtered pipe I’d be disappointed and I wouldn’t feel right about the pipe, I’m funny that way though.

If it said "No Filter" then you can feel comfortable sending it back provided you haven't smoked it. If it doesn't say that you have to beg nicely and hope they have hearts.

savinelli filter pipes usually come with an adaptor included, that is definitely a filter pipe.
I would return it ,someone either sent the wrong type or it was listed incorrectly.

Not what you ordered, assuming the listing was read correctly :)

Sorry, I don’t understand this. The “adapter” is a hollow tube. How does this make using a pipe cleaner nearly impossible? Or are you talking about something else?

My smooth 121ks does not have one either.
Merton, Based on your respose, I double checked and you are correct. There is some sort of transition peice on my pipe but after some close examination, it's permanent and not the same as the filter adapter. I easily passed a pipe cleaner through with no issue. Thanks for your response!
