I am very pleased with my latest PAD pick up. I won this pipe along with 2 lesser name pipes for 26.25 shipped. It is easily the best smoking pipe I have in my collection. I smoked some Dark Twist in it, a tobacco that has burnt my mouth in every bowl I've smoked it in, and really enjoyed it with no burn or bite what so ever. I did a little work on the pipe, cleaning all the tar from around the rim and buffing out the pipe and bit with olive oil. I had just started smoking another bowl of Dark Twist when I decided to take some pictures and show it off a bit. This is the first name brand pipe I ever purchased, so it was like a right of passage for me so to speak. It has a couple of fills in it that irritated me at first, but they just make it original. So I'm loving this pipe :puffy:

The Savinelli Long John is a classic. I was torn between a Long John and a Bing's Favorite (about the same price). Didn't want to risk getting a stinker on e-bay so I bought new. Hope you continue to enjoy that one as they run between $85 and $110 depending on the stain and finish.

Oh wow, i never priced it. I'm even happier now because the other 2 pipes are pretty flipping nice. They are worth the $26.25, so the Long John is like a bonus :DThis long John smokes so cool that even the tobacco that burns me every time is smooth as silk. It must be the amount of briar the smoke has to travel through. It is 7.25 inches and the bit is barely over an inch. I'll post pictures of the ither 2 pipes that came in the auction in a bit. Thanks for the kind words!!!

I have one in the sandblast finish. They are a very good smoke and it's kind of nice having the bowl a little further away, especially if you wear tri-focals!

I was eyeing one of those too Shawn - you got yourself a great deal. They're nice looking pipes and you know what they say "you can't go wrong with a sav" :puffy:
If that's not already Savinelli's slogan, I think it should be!

I am cleaning the other 2 up now. Yea Cigrmaster, all that whining and bitching I did and I guess the universe just wanted me to wait on this deal. I got a very sweet Guildhall London Pipe #215 by Comoy in another auction for 20 shipped. i will post that on a seperate thread. So eBay paid off, I just jumped the gun!!!

These are the other 2 pipes I wone in the auction with the Long John. They were a mess. Green stems, almost white at the last inch. Both rims were caked with tar. I did the best I could with what i had. I should have taken before pix. I really revived them quite a bit. The first pipe is marked England - Hilbourne and the second is simply marked Italy on the bottom of the stem.

There are currently three Savinelli pipes in my collection and they are all great pieces. The Pisa has a few fills that are now obvious, but that changes the smoke not at all. Congratulations on a fine acquisition.
