Savinelli - Chipped Mortise

Hi guys. I bought this Savinelli from a local brick and mortar last week and noticed after a few smokes that there’s a small chip in the mortise. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I would say yes but only to be a jerk. Actually wouldn't worry about it at all. I bet you'll do far worse things to it. And that piece of metal does wonders for the stability of that part of the pipe.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The only issue is that you'll see it every time you take the pipe apart

If any issue at all, that ferrule will keep everything together.
