i’ve been looking into getting one of these. for the people who own one, what do you think of it? Also how long does a bowl last in this pipe?

It's a solid pipe, and quite light so it can be clenched. It has a decent size bowl so depending on the type of tobacco you are smoking, shag, ribbon, coins, flake, etc, could be anywhere between 30 mins and 1 hr+.

I'm a slow smoker so I generally get 45+ minutes out of mine. It's a great pipe. I bought mine when the shape was new and it's never let me down.

I like mine, but no way on the 40 minute bowls. It's a rather small chamber and for me it's more like 10 minutes.

I like mine. The shape appeals to me and is comfortable to clench, and Savinellis are decent quality factory pipes. It's a pretty average-sized bowl, the length of the smoke will vary depending on so many factors, but I would guess 45 mins to an hour for me.

Best way to work out whether it will work for you (and the smoking times) is to compare the measurements of the bowl to a pipe you already own.

I’ll offer the alternative opinion. First, the version I had was attractively rusticated with a nice slightly bent Cumberland stem. It was the first Bing I owned. The bowl was a larger billiard size. I found the bite area and button to be thin. I spend most of my smoking time with the pipe stuck in my mouth. Because of the stated features and the bowl weight and overall length, the pipe tended to hang low and feel heavy. I ended up selling it. The straight traditional Bings work better for me.
All that said, it smoked fine I probably averaged 45 minutes smoking time. That’s pretty normal for me with most pipes.

I also really like my Bing Extra, little longer and fun to smoke, love the 6mm filter

The Willmer Bel-Air is very similar to the Merchant Service Special: same overall length and styling, but the former is slightly taller and has a thicker stem. Both are good smokers.
I have more than a few Bel Airs, including some still new-in-box. Great pipes. Willmer, especially the older Willmers, are seriously good pipes equal to Charatan and the likes.

The Bing’s Favorite is a decent pipe, typical Savinelli. The bowl should give 45 minutes more or less.

My first Bing’s Favorite arrived today. Only one smoke with it. All was good. I have a Savinelli 706 which is similar in size and shape, with no bend however. It’s usually a 30 to 60 minute smoke. Both are very light weight and clench easily.

I love mine. It’s a light brown sandblast with low relief and a brass ferrule accent at the end of the shank. A cumberland-coloured acrylic stem, with the naff imprinted gold-look clubhead and ball (corny but it’s part of the package). An easy smoking straight billiard, get at least 30-45 minutes. I tend to favour Virginia flakes in it like Orlik Golden Sliced or Hamborger Veermaster. I say go ahead and purchase it. You know you want to!

That golf club imprint always bugs me a little when I smoke my Bing’s Favorite. It strikes me as kind of cheap. A small quibble. At least it doesn’t detract from its performance.
