A light judicious mud application to the bottom of the bowl might be in order. A Tinsky I got a couple of months back had the opposite problem with the shank drilling plowing a trough in the bottom of the bowl. It smokes okay, at best, however the heavy nubbly rustication started to creep out my trypo addled brain so it's in the custody of a friend. I think it's smooths or light blasts for me from now on.
