I had a chance a few weeks back to compare my family-era Ashford with Samthecoffeeman's Patent era version. Sams pipe has a Dunhill style innertube. It is hard to see in this picture, but my Ashford is slightly smaller.

Al, would the nomenclature normally be white or is that a function of polish and wax? Lovely pipe! I can only dream of collecting and producing to your degree of success!

That is reflection and probably some wax/rouge.

Great grab on that pipe. I recently won a Sasieni 4 dot walnut at my local pipe club meeting. Amazing pipes and highly collectible. Smokes amazing as well. Enjoy your new pipe!
