While Santa and his helpers were putting the grandkids gifts around the tree, he cracked open the 1998 tin of Christmas Cheer he was gifted a few weeks back. Being the first time for smoking this historic blend he chose the trusty MM Emerald and though it was a thoroughly enjoyable smoke and will enjoy the whole tin, other than the fact you can't get it any longer he can't see making a $200 bid on one of the auctions to get more. I am very glad I was able to get what I have and will be sad when it's all gone.

Hopefully you gave the flake a few hours to dry before firing it up so as to get to taste what’s there in it. Otherwise it can be quite muted.

Still, quite the nice gift.

Happy Holidays!

Actually, I did not. I was between one bicycle assembly and starting another and just wanted to get it lit, so I broke it up and put fire to it. will do on the next bowl thanks for your input.

I've got a tin each of the 1997 and 1999 but not the 1998. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. All those decades in the tin maturing🤤

I popped a tin of 2015 Christmas Cheer last week, and it was dry right out of the tin. I found the flavor still muted. I wouldn’t pay $70+ for it, but I dropped only $20 when it first came out.

I opened a tin of tbe 2014 about a year ago and that wasn't dry. I do notice that the tins of Mcclelland I have in the cellar don't swell up like some of my C&D do. I'm guessing that's to do with the way Mcclelland produced their Virginias.

Even when the flakes feel dry they still have a lot of moisture in them. Try leaving them out for a couple of hours and see if they liven up.

McClelland used food grade tins, which are a little more robust. The only tins I have that get puffed up are the C&D tins.
