Christmas morning they always find a few burnt matches and a pipe with some dottle in it, so in our case he doesn't get to keep the pipe but appreciates the use of one of my pipes during his smoke break here.
Great idea! I hear Mrs. Claus has been wanting him to cut back on the sweets and piping, so it's his one night to indulge.

Well it worked out for the better. Santa ended up with a nice Kaywoodie Zulu and he left me a very nice Savinelli Roma 606KS. I think I like this tradition. What will Santa bring me next year. He he he he.

Santa may cut a deal to stop by every month or two. I think if a count were made of the pipes in depictions of Santa smoking a pipe, cobs would win. I think Santa was a Missouri Meerschaum guy, mostly. I'm glad Santa did right by you; he's a man who knows pipes.
I was recruited to answer a questionnaire by a child in my extended family interrogating Santa about various facts ... I forget what all, like Mrs. Claus' maiden name and such. Santa was pretty cagy, in his answers, but he did the best he could. At least, he wasn't guilty of engendering any disbelief, although the questionnaire was a tip-off that there were some seeds of suspicion.

Here
I have a 606KS, along with a 111KS, as my two "latakia" pipes.
They both smoke well. One thing I've found is that the 606 "tones down" the latakia, compared to the 111.
So, I might jam a stronger blend in the 606 when I want a smoother ride, and vice versa, putting tamer blends in the 111 (straight billiard) when I want to taste it more.
Your mileage may vary, but I find it nice to be able to further "tune" my smoke to my preference of the moment by pipe selection.
The 606 hangs well. I find it to be a comfy clencher. Enjoy!
