Cut the pipe in half and send the pics to the seller and ask for a refund

I never thought about it until seeing this post to ask about what sellers mean by sanitized. I always assumed they just gave it a quick swab of alcohol or something but you're right that sanitized should mean more than that.
The one pictured came from an online retailer with this statement posted.
An email has been sent to them.
Whenever some seller says sanitized and ready to smoke I know it’s time for elbow grease and cleaning.
Being one of the big online retailers, I expect better. First cleaning issue I've had with one of their estates.
It doesn’t matter who’s doing the selling. An estate, is an estate.
I'm waiting for the Yanik to start coloring before I do that.
I'm used to this buying estate auction lots, but I would also expect better from a retailer.
Buying estate pipes is something of a crap shoot when dealing with someone you haven't dealt with before.
While true, the pipe mentioned was purchased from one of the top online sellers and one I've purchased from for over 10 years.
Now that kinda sh1t, really boils my piss!
This ,I have been encountered this in the recent past with few pipes bought from a couple of reputable Danish outfits.makes me mad.if I'm paying top dollar for refurbished estate pipes could I expect them to be ready for smokes without taking any additional internal cleaning from my part.

I’d say this is part of the phenomenon it’s extremely difficult to hire and keep good help today.
If you want a job you can get one.
If you don’t like it you can get a better paying job.
If times get lean those pipes will come polished, buffed and shiny again.

I never take a seller's word for a pipe being clean (unless it's new), I always give it a once-over to get it to my expectations.
