Stinks to only have one on the continent but thankfully he’s a pretty dang good one.
Unfortunately the cost of producing ANYthing is so high in Oz, that we have hardly manufacture anything these days.
A small(ish) population means limited demand.
Artisans have a hard time making a living.
People are so addicted to buying low cost made-in-China goods, that most won't pay more for locally-made products that are of better quality.
Good call. But a wry observation, is, the Chinese stuff is getting very expensive, but the quality is the usual crapola.
And yes, it is very disappointing that we seem to have a great skill in making life next to impossible for anyone that wants to work, or be self employed; artisans for example. It seems that local, state, and federal public servants and politicians have the attitude, "tax 'em till they choke"!
