I got three tins and two of Golden Glow. Anyone care to share what that blend is like? Golden Glow that is....

You know how every once in a blue moon, for completely unknown or unpredictable reasons, you are side-lined by that so-called "nirvana smoke"?

Two of the occasions that that has happened to me have been while trying a blend for the first time. So of course I immediately assumed that I stumbled upon my new favorite blend of all time.

One of those was Marlin Flake.
The other was Cabbie's Mixture.

Neither turned out upon subsequent smokes to be my favorites after all.

Both are solid. They're my kind of tobacco.
I just never got a "nirvana" smoke out of either of them again. I don't know why that happened the first time that I tried each.

I have really enjoyed smoking some of the older tins of Cabbies so I was excited to finally see it hit US shelves again. But at $22.50 for a tin I decided to pass. I imagine that the price is reflective of the difficulty they've had sourcing the perique for the blend and that's fine. That's how pricing works. I just don't feel like being the buyer in that equation.

This is another one that has gone through some changes over the years. Started off as a classic stewed fruit VaPer. Then it had a dash of their sauce. Now, I wouldn't know what to expect.
I've only been through 2 tins (2016ish release?) and there was no sauce. What I got was definitely a bit fruity, but also on the spicier side of VaPer.

It always sells out in what seems like mere minutes. I have also never been quick enough to get any St. James Flake except for one time and I could only buy one tin. I was lucky enough to get some FVF last week along with some Skiff Mixture but would like to one day try Cabbie's.
