My two tins just arrived... this post increases the urgency dramatically... except I haven't been able to derail myself for the C&D Bijou that arrived a couple days prior!! Gonna be a GREAT TOBACCO MONTH!!! I feel it in my bones!!! And we're just getting warmed up!!!

Well Nate, you were not wrong, this is one of the best VA flakes I've had. I started with light flakes like Orlik, and then moved on to some richer and stronger flakes. This has some real depth to it IMO. Very rich, and has a pleasant background flavor I'm still try to put my finger on. I'm glad I tried it, and will have to order some more when all the ruckus dies down.

I don't think blenders can win hen it comes to moisture. I frequently see complaints about dryer, ready to smoke blends. That said, it does seem like Gawith is extreme on the wet side.

Smoking a tin myself at the moment....crikey it's moist, bye bye matches. Iv'e cubed it now and just starting getting more flavour as it dries out.
Love SG tobaccos but running out of patience on their flakes...too much trouble sorry.

Just leave it open overnight. Problem solved ;) sure, it can be a pain, but all good things... I'm certain there's a very good reason for the moisture content. They don't do it to annoy their customers.

I was lucky enough to acquire this back in February. It was an excellent tobacco. I definitely found it best to air dry a bit, and it definitely benefits from cube cutting. I smoke it in a narrow bowl giant pickaxe. Taking my time during band practice and relighting a few times due to distraction, it is one of the few tobaccos that I enjoy smoking for 2 hours. And I am normally a latakia guy, so that says a bit.

It looks like this was a one-time deal in the US. Retailers are no longer able to order more. Not sure if it may have to do with the pending FDA regulations.

Well that makes just about zero sense to pull such a successful blend when no others are being pulled. There has to be more to the story...

Seems like SG does this from time to time. They'll link up with a tobacco retailer and produce a special limited stock. Remember SL with perique several months back? You can still get BSF overseas, but costs $45 for two tins including shipping to the US!

SF, any more details around that? Do you have a source?
Got the update from SP. It appears to be a SG decision, but do not have the full details.
Glad we were able to get some Stateside. Only option now is directly from DPS.

Nate- love that Dunhill, that is one gorgeous dog. Wish I had jumped on this, pretty stupid to do one shipment of a product and then leave your customers hanging. Maybe SG is taking lessons from Germain. From what I heard, somebody got POed, probably Gawith upset that P&C was selling them for under 9 bucks a tin when they cost 17 Euros direct from the blend collaborator, DPS.

Read the description on GQ, and Demerara Flake is the bulk version of Brown Sugar Flake.
