Well, I've been lurking long enough now. Thought I oughta stand up and introduce myself.

Been combing over the forums here for a few weeks trying to learn what's what. I've only been smoking a pipe for a few months now and with regularity for the last couple of weeks.
I'd originally purchased an inexpensive pipe at a local tobacco shop but have since added a Rossi Rubino Antico 8606 which is leaps and bounds better (when I can get it lit and keep it lit). I really do enjoy this pipe.

I am still trying to nail down what I like with regard to tobacco.
I have the SuperValue English Mixture, SV Black Cavendish, Sutliff Balkan II, and Three Nuns.
I originally didn't think much of the dirt cheap SuperValue English Mixture and then realized its actually quite good. It was expected to merely be a placeholder on my way to finding "the good stuff".
I quite enjoy the Balkan blend but less so than the English Mixture.
I tried Three Nuns (Lewis liked it after all) but seems to have changed and I didn't think much of it at all. Now am trying to figure out if its the Latakia, Perique, or both that I love so much about the English Mixture. Have some SG Squadron Leader coming soon and have plans to soon try Doblone D'Oro, Escudo, and Father Dempsey's.
Well, guess that does it for an introduction. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
But where in Texas are you?
It is such a small state....

Welcome from Slidell, LA from a native born Texan. Born in Port Arthur, graduated high school in Beaumont and all my sisters and their families still live in the Beaumont/Lumberton/Vidor areas.
