and thoroughly clean out the airway. Depending on how stubborn the ghost is, it may require several treatments.
Much of the nastiness and ghosts is in the shank and mortise.

Use a bright light to look down the airway.

If moderately clean, alcohol soaked cleaners will be all you need.
If there is years of inspissated :poop:
you will need to ream it out first

I cleaned a couple bowls with this method. It worked. But I've found that merely reaming the cake out of the bowl, cleaning the gunk out of the shank and mortise, alcohol rinse, and finally a hot water flush worked just as well.
