Rusticated/sandblasted or Smooth?

At the moment I only buy smooth.
What's the difference between sandblast/rusticated???

kris, here is a rusticated pipe.

Here is a sandblasted one.

The blasted pipe is done with a sandblasting machine, the rusticated is a carved process of which I am not certain of how it is accomplished.
