And to a lesser extent pipes/tobacco will drive the movement/extinction of the deeming date. I believe Russ is correct in thinking that the new administration may undo the idiocy of what the prior administration put in place.

I am excited that Russ and others are rolling with the punches and doing everything they can to continue, despite the initial dire feelings. It's been great for us pipe smokers and we owe some in the industry at least gratitude, if not more, for dealing with the deeming regulations so fluidly.

I too am quite happy that Russ and other pipe tobacco blenders are adapting to the regulatory environment. As a fan of P&C blends and a frequent customer, I would hate to loose some of my favorite tobaccos to FDA overreach, ostensibly allowed allowed by poorly worded 2009 federal legislation. I agree with Crash, we do owe many professionals our gratitude. Thank you Russ for coming onto the forums and engaging with the pipe smoking community. Your reasurrence comes at a good time, just before the new year, at the end of a tumultuous 2016.

I like all of Russ' blends I've tried: Including Fire Storm, experimental Balkan M61, Log Cabin and Chestnut. Many of these blends from PC, C&D, GLP, and all the other major blenders will be around in aged tins and imitated in home mixes for years to come. I'm hoping the deeming regs will develop a serious case of "the slows" and eventually fade from view, though that may be wishful thinking. Seems extravagantly costly for negligible effect.
