My heartfelt condolences to your family. It's the only bad part of owning a pet. Thankfully the joy they bring over the years makes it worth knowing you have to let them go someday.

Sincerest sympathies and condolences! When we lost our first pup years ago, it was truly heart-rending. She was an 11 year old Norwegian elkhound and our "first child", before we had any human ones. The loss was inexplicably searing... I will never forget it(or her). Peace.
