Yep sounds like you handled your temper well. That is a good quality in a parent. Sorry for your loss. My fishing buddies son (7) just scratched the hell out of his new black Subaru with a rock because he was mad at his dad. He did not handle it so well. I assume the young lass did not mean for her actions to turn out this way so I would bet she will turn out OK. Parenting is a package deal my friend. I like your idea of plaque to show her later.

From what I know he is a true maintainer. I know how an Irish temper can be insano at times. Irish is a true gentleman though. A quality first class gent in my book.

Get some Super Glue For Wood and glue that pipe back together. Line the crack in the chamber with pipe mud and it will still be useful.

Can't imagine how you feel right now. I'd be devastated if my favorite pipe broke!

Wow, not good. I like the idea of a plaque. However, it probalby is repairable. I was smoking a brand new Peterson and playing catch with my son awhile back and the thing dropped out of my mouth and onto the pavement. A big old chunck came right out of the bit end of the stem. I was not happy. A little superglue fixed it right up. You barely notice the crack and since I normally use softee bits on my pipes, it's pretty much out of sight and out of mind. I now smoke cobs when doing anything that doesn't allow me full use of my hands.
