I've wanted one of their horn-stemmed pipes for years. But even down to $65 I passed: I'm still waiting for that Savinelli Qandale going on sale.

I'm after a bent one with a small bowl, just not the Prince bowl. Methinks I'd also prefer it rusticated: cheaper and less maintenance-intensive.

The rusticated ones look better IMO.

Great pipes! I wanted to get one of their stack billiards but as I said in another thread, I just can’t justify another pipe right now. These are absolute steals at these sale prices though. Congrats to all of you and your new Ropps. I only have one (a cherrywood) but it’s a great smoker and a unique pipe.

They are neat! Definitely not an everyday smoker for me but I do like to break it out from time to time.

I like the Etudient line. Small chambers, light weight, good for a short smoke. I have two of them now. One is a Bing style billiard, the other is that little Prince.

I really wanted to like the Ropp Vintage Stouts because I loved the way they look and the size. I bought 3 and sold them bc the draw is too tight for my liking.

I agree about the draw but for price points in this range I have no problem opening up the draw myself. I’ve opened up about 90% of my pipes to Rick Newcombe’s specifications. Opening up a stem can be tricky though, you want a tapered bit for the tenon end.

Disclaimer: please if you do try opening up a pipe, start on a pipe you won’t mind messing up, I’ve screwed up a few myself throughout the years.

I got my cutty on the mail yesterday, the draw is a little tight but to my liking. I like how their chambers have no coating, just naked briar. I already put 4 smokes through it, it's a great smoker. No gurgles.

I got mine yesterday. Gonna smoke it here in a bit, have some Stockton drying for the occasion.

No woodsy taste from the bare briar?

Not that I noticed, but my pallet is probably average. The tobacco tasted a bit "raw", but not woodsy. I found it to have a better taste then some factory coatings.
