If you are in business and dealing with clients, you need to be mindful of their thoughts. Of course, you could smoke whatever you like in the car but then you will find your driving alone.
On someone elses property I would always ask permission before lighting up. It's only polite and will reflect well on your employer.I work a physical job, and I'm in attics and crawlspace often, so I figured the pipe smoke smelled better than the dirt and grime I'm in.
On people's property, I always use Swedish snus. I only smoke in my vehicle. On someone elses property I would always ask permission before lighting up. It's only polite and will reflect well on your employer.
So, I usually smoke outside or in my car. Occasionally when it's really cold, I'll smoke inside by a window.
Lucky for me, my wife thinks pretty much all pipe tobacco smells like incense when being smoked, and doesn't have an issue with it. Because of this, I never really put much thought into how I smell because of my pipe. Her nose is really the only nose I care about.
Well, a couple of days ago, I had an interesting interaction with a client. She saw me pull up with a pipe in my mouth, and when I went to speak to her, she told me how her father used to smoke a pipe and she absolutely loved the smell of the tobacco he smoked.
She was not so pleased with what I was smoking in my car, which was GL Pease Embarcadero. So it got me thinking if it would be worth the sacrifice to smoke something more boring but with a more pleasing aroma to the non-smoker. I work with new people all the time, and i don't necessarily want to offend anyone, but I also don't really care that much .

How often do you get to show off a new roommate? Can you have more than one at a time? Do you have a limitation or allotment per month? Now she wants to smell anything I'm packing and then gives me feedback on the roommate.
