I've seen the three main ones (Scottish Cake, Scottish Flake and Red Virginia) pretty regularly this past year. It's not been nearly as bad or elusive as it was in 2021/early 2022. And their myriad Dunhill clones always seen to be lingering around.

There was a drop a couple weeks ago but Red Virginia and Black Flake were excluded. I called around and received the same feedback. Really hope these drop soon as they are two of my favorites.

Hutch I can't speak to Red Virginia but McCranie's has Black Flake in stock online, and on sale no less! I'd give them a call and see if they have either in stock in the store, sometimes there's more than there is online.

I usually like red VAs, but did NOT like their Red, FWIW.

I dislike burley, yet I DID like their Scottish Cake, whose burley (in the form of KY) was very noticeable to a burley-disliker like me. That's saying something. I remember thinking it was somewhat similar to modern Three Nuns, but better.

But my absolute favorite from them is their Black Flake. It's in the ballpark of Astley's No. 44.

Haven't had much free time to spend on here for a while, but checked back in after I saw this thread lighting up. I appreciate all the feedback. Looks like I'm going to have to add a couple more McConnell blends to the hoard. The flakes sound especially appealing.

So far I've tried McC Rich Dark Virginia and Scottish Cake - I take a long while to work through a tin - and liked them both. Also picked up some F&T blends since they are also made by Kohlhase & Kopp. Looking forward to trying Blackjack and Cut Blended Plug. And I was wanting to dive into some of the old Orlik tins I've had lying around. Man, so much tobacco, so little time...
