Rlp-6 vs 7 Seas Regular

For those who have smoked both Which of these two do you prefer?

I smoked a pouch of captain a black awhile back and liked it enough to make it a regular in my rotation but would like to know which one of these two is best to buy in bulk as I have heard they are both better tobacco than the captain.

I tried to google this but didn’t find a post that had someone respond that has smoked all 3.

I'm not a big smoker of aros, but, when that itch needs scratching, it's MB 7 Seas for me.

My reason is that I find that I get a bit more tobacco flavour while I smoke. To be fair, the difference isn't huge, but it is there.

If someone came along and claimed exactly the opposite, I wouldn't argue. The only way to sort this out is buy an ounce or two of each, and see what you think; it's low-cost science!

Since we all have individual tastes, that's sound advice
I've passed on tins I didn't like to a mate, and he loved them.

Same. The MB 7 Seas with the white label is my preference.

With the Lane LTD bulk aros, I (slightly) prefer LL-7 over RLP-6. I'm just not sure if one of the 7 Seas blends is a match for LL-7.

My local shop had Rlp-6 in stock so I picked up some of that. When I run through it guess I’ll try out 7 seas and see what I was missing. Thanks for the opinions on these blends.

depends on your opinion of PG I guess. That's the difference I've noticed. Love the Seven Seas by the way, Royal is my favorite so far.

Just an update I guess I’m an odd ball or got a bad batch but RLP-6 but was more chemical/burning plastic tasing to me than captain black. Was noticeable after the smoke on the beard note as well. I ran down and got a bag of captain black just to double check and the captain smokes better to me even though they are similar besides that strong chemical taste Rlp6 was giving me about 1/2 way through the bowl. I can taste it in captain to but it was in the back ground and didn’t linger.

I’ll try 7 seas once I go through the Captain. I like the chocolate covered raisins taste I get from it but neither have been perfect

Don't wait until one of them is all gone! Alternate smoking them so you can have the best comparison.

Well I have tried all 3 now and the Capitan smokes best for me.

RLP-6 is the bulk version of Captain Black Original (White) & to me smoke/taste the same. The bulk version may possibly have less propylene glycol than the pouch version.

MacBaren Seven Seas Regular is similar to the Lane offerings but to me seems to be less topped/cased. It's still very good though.

That is what I read but after trying all 3 side by side my self the tin note and the smoke is not the same. You could say it’s close but I have a hard time now believing they are the same from first hand experience.
