Another great marketing idea for C&D:

Why not offer a sampler set of five different blends, buyer's choice, at discount?
Call it "Van Under The Bridge".
Load up that old Chevy!

I just tried Sunset Velvet. The smell is basically the most sickeningly overpowering perfume scent on something you’d find in a dollar store. Flavor was actually ok the first third of the bowl, but the topping was gone pretty quickly after that. Not only am I not smoking another bowl, but I don’t think I want to keep the bag around. It’s that bad. Here’s to hoping some of the others are solid!

Reading through the blend descriptions for Rivertown, none of them really seem to stand out to me. I still think I'll order some samples to try, but now I'm more curious about Low Country. I don't think I'd heard of them before today. I looked at their offerings and they seem to be more up my alley. And me likey that price point!

A lot of them sound very similar to existing C&D blends. I'd bet that the Maple one uses the same sauce as Autumn Evening, Hazelnut/Nutty Irishman, and so on. Just speculation.

The only one that really piqued my interest was Oak and Ember, which sounds like Haunted Bookshop minus the perique.

C&D should take this Rivertown thing and really run with it. Take a cue from Esoterica and create blends that celebrate the beautiful cities that line banks of our great waterways. I mean, when I think of decrepit urban wastelands with open sewers running through them, I think of really good pipe tobacco, and I’ll bet you do, too.

Hackensack Sludge Flake. Cleveland Dark River Fire. Camden Bum Roll. Patterson Plugged. Pittsburgh Black Lung Kake….

The Detroit industrial complex provides a couple of apropos names: Red Va blend: Rouge River. The Zug Island coke furnaces for a DFK blend: Dark Fired Zug Island. It’s actually dark-fired (see below)

I like the sound of this because I like DFK and because fifteen years ago I played Horde on World of Warcraft.
