Which MB blends are you talking about so maybe I can try them out and cellar some!

I’ll be happy to share with you what some of my favorites are but it’s really just up to personal preference, so please keep that in mind. Some of my favorites are:

Mixture Flake (the blend is great too!)

Navy Flake

Dark Twist

Roll Cake

HH Bold Kentucky (though I'd reach for 1792 over this any day of the week)

HH Pure VA

HH Old Dark Fired (took a long time to grow on me but I love this very British tasting Flake)

Also check out the Amphora line,

St Bruno

And Savinelli blends as they are made by Mac B as well (St. Bruno, I think it’s no secret that it’s one of my true loves, I left my wife so I could have a menage a trois with Bruno & Condor).
Anyway, that should leave you with plenty to test out. Mac Baren gets a lot a crap for making tobaccos that bite but I’ve personally never had this problem but the people that do say that, also say it can be remedied with a proper smoking technique so if you do find them a bit bitey, don’t give up on them so easily, give them a chance and they might just rock you like a hurricane, or something like that. It maybe that I just naturally smoke like a Dane, who knows?
I still have many more blends that I need to get acquainted with in the Mac Baren line up.

All my experiences with MacBaren tobaccos have been positive. From my perspective, they make good tobaccos in a lot of different genres. Their flakes are the easiest and nicest to work with of all the manufacturers I've tried. Also, they tend to be easily obtainable which goes a real long way with me. I've mostly been enjoying he HH lineup, but want to try a few of their classic blends soon. Specifically Navy Flake and Plumcake

Better to have sex with a dog and a bird then a bitch any day in my book! The dog is faithful no matter what, and the bird flies off when your done. The bitch just bitches no matter what...

I've smoked Lakelands, but none of the floral aromatics that some people refer to as grandma's bath mat by smell and taste. Other than those, I wouldn't bother with designating pipes. I designated one cob for Mixture No. 79, but found it is not necessary. I think designating may become more important for the majority who build cake, so there is residue from each tobacco. A minority of us scoop out the ash, then wipe out the chamber with a rough paper towel or napkin. That leaves just the thin carbon layer that serves the purpose but carries minimal if any taste or smell. Also, this eliminates the need for owning a reamer unless you are restoring estate pipes. Also, it maintains the chamber size which is, to me, a good thing. I concede, the majority prefer to build cake. I don't argue with that; I just don't do it.
