Ironic...
But back to the subjects of the post: mortality and mourning for someone. I remember her vaguely in the film "Notting Hill". Turning 53 myself, it is good to be reminded that one's life span never came with a guarantee. Live well while we have life... The important bit being the adjective 'well'; is it merely a subjective sense of 'well' or is there, as many traditions tell us, a pattern for living well...
Thanks for the post, OP.

Notting Hill is a guilty pleasure movie for my wife. Emma played the free spirited sister and was quite good. Another gone too soon....

For aficionados of Emma’s wonderfully irreverent work on Vicar of Dibley, all I have to say is:

“I can’t believe it’s not butter”

For those who may be wondering what this is all about, or should have been all about:

I'm not sure if "The Vicar of Dibley" made it stateside, but it was truly funny - in a British kind of way!

I should imagine her sudden death will bring on a repeat viewing of the series, they tend to do that.
Next time it is shown I'll try to get into it more though if I recall it has the canned laughter thing I so hate, whether genuine laughter or not, I find it distracting.
Regards,
Jay.

Jay - I hope so. The character played by Trevor Peacock (Jim Trott) is hilarious. I didn't see every episode, but I will certainly do so if the series is repeated.
And I agree with your comment about canned laughter.

53 is really very young and the news is naturally sad but I confess that I never really liked The Vicar of Dibley. For some reason, it came over as a little wanky to me. However, compared to the crap sitcoms I have tried to watch recently it may be worth a revisit. Out of curiosity I just looked up how many episodes there were and was staggered to find there were only 20. It felt like much more to me.

In this day and time, age 53 is awfully young. At least this actor seems to have had a full career. Time is precious.
